PRAYER THAT PRODUCES FRUIT
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,
you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit,
so you will be My disciples” John 15:7-8
I have been thinking on this verse for some time now, and allowing it to go over in my mind, about how will this year of 2012 be different to 2011?
- In bible numbers 11 means
- Incompleteness
- Disorganization
- Lawlessness
- Antichrist
- One beyond 10 yet one short of 12
- On the other hand 12 means
- Divine Government
- Apostolic Fullness
We will see much more fruit this year in our lives, and in the Church, because of a push in the Spirit world!
If you want more of God, you have to do more
If you want something you have never had,
do something you have never done!!
So one of the main things for praying is fruit-bearing. The words of Jesus abiding in us prepares us for ‘fruit-bearing’ verse 7
The key to praying with power is to become the kind of person, who does not use God for our own ends, but are utterly devoted to being used for His ends!!
I looked up in the Websters dictionary the word ‘abide’ =
- ‘To rest or dwell to continue permanently
- to tarry and stay
- to be firm and immovable’.
So John 15:7 is in 2 parts
- Part 1 “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you”!!
- Part 2 “You will ask
I wonder if our prayers are not answered because of Part 1 is lacking in our lives! “The word of Christ”?
Please meditate on John 15 this week. As we want more fruit than we ever have had.
In closing please pray this prayer from your heart;
“Dear Jesus, this year I want my prayers and my life to bear much fruit.
Help me to get over myself and be sold our for You.
Help me to be disciplined to read and study your word
and abide in it and to be more saturated by your word” Amen
Have a blessed week!
Love you all heaps.
